Abstract:
The multi-armed bandit problem was first framed several decades ago, but has gained considerable prominence in recent years. This talk introduces the audience to the bandit problem, discusses some solution strategies, and talks about a few practical applications in industry verticals such as financial services, retail, and travel & hospitality.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Ramasubramanian (Ramsu) Sundararajan heads Product R&D and AI at Cartesian Consulting. He has over 18 years of experience in applying machine learning models to problems in finance, healthcare, energy, aviation, travel, CPG and retail. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and teaches analytics in practice at IIM Calcutta as a part-time visiting faculty member. He is a Fellow of IIM Calcutta and holds an undergraduate degree from BITS Pilani.
