Profile of the speaker:
Dr. Subra Ramamurthy FCCA, FCIS (UK), Ph. D (USA) is an economist with public finance
specialization. Has worked with the International Monetary Fund since 1991 as its fiscal
resident advisor in a number of countries restructuring their economies and on IMF
diagnostic and technical assistance missions to various countries in Africa, Central Asia and
Europe. Has also done training assignments in Vienna IMF Institute and special programs
for Russian speaking countries and Arb countries. Had also worked on assignments for –
Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation, United Nations, World Bank, Asian
Development Bank and the Arab Monetary Fund. Major countries covered included: Russia,
Kazakhstan, China, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific
and Tanzania and Namibia in Africa.
